Blind salvages a point for United at The Hawthorns.

Manchester United may have left The Hawthorns buoyant following a last gasp Daley Blind equaliser against Alan Irvine’s West Bromwich Albion, but the 2-2 draw extended their winless run away from home that has extended to five matches in all competitions under new manager Louis van Gaal.

United started extremely slowly in the West Midlands, failing to press the hosts in the early stages and allowing them to grab the initiative that was rammed home when Liverpool loanee right back Andre Wisdom scampered down the right flank and played the ball inside for attacking midfielder Stephen Sessegnon to brilliantly sweep into the top corner:

 

From this point on it seemed as though United would go on and clinch victory as they dominated possession and created numerous chances, but van Gaal’s side were caught by a sucker punch as right back Rafael da Silva played in form striker Saido Berahino onside and the England Under 21 international needed no second invitation to slot the ball past David de Gea:

 

United manager Louis van Gaal has declared himself disappointed with a draw, however, despite a promising performance as the club continue to lose ground on the Premier League pacesetters.
