Arsenal 3 In, 3 Out: Arsene Wenger Looks To Sign Bundesliga Duo & Liverpool Target In Attacking Reshuffle

Major changes expected in attack for Arsenal.

Although Arsenal are arguably more in need of defensive signings than anything else at the moment, recent reports suggest that Arsene Wenger could be about to make some major changes to his team’s attack this January.

Three big names could be set to leave the Emirates Stadium, while three would then be brought in as replacements, following on from the exciting purchases of the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck during the summer transfer window.

It is not always easy to get transfer business done in the middle of the season, but it looks as though these could be the three players moving out and the three replacements coming in during the winter window:

Out: Theo Walcott

Linked with a surprise move on loan to Serie A side Fiorentina, Theo Walcott’s lengthy spell out through injury may have put him out of Arsenal’s first-team plans for the moment. The pacey forward is no doubt a potentially key player for the Gunners, but he is perhaps too injury prone to be relied upon on a regular basis, with a loan possibly just what he needs at this stage in his career.

In: Pedro (Barcelona)

A similarly pacey goalscorer on the flanks, it could be that Barcelona winger Pedro will be brought in to replace Walcott this January. The Spanish international has been linked with Arsenal on a number of occasions in recent times as he may be allowed to leave the Nou Camp this season. Liverpool are also interested, however, and may out-bid the Gunners for his signature.

Out: Mesut Ozil

A player who has been rather disappointing since becoming Arsenal’s club-record signing last summer, Mesut Ozil has been linked with a January exit from the Gunners, with the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich monitoring his situation.

In: Julian Draxler (Schalke)

A German playmaker who may be a better fit for Arsenal, Schalke youngster Julian Draxler is on the club’s radar again this winter as he continues to impress in the Bundesliga and stand out as a player who should be playing for a bigger European side.

Out: Lukas Podolski

Although something of a fans’ favourite at Arsenal, Lukas Podolski looks likely to move on this January after struggling to break into the starting lineup on a regular basis this season. Inter Milan are reportedly interested and it seems likely that he could leave the Emirates Stadium.

In: Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich)

A top class winger who isn’t getting much playing time at his current club, Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri is another attacking midfield player on Arsenal’s radar this January, and he could make a useful signing if he fulfills his tremendous potential.
