Disgrace: Five Reasons Arsenal MUST Sell Mesut Ozil Immediately After Shocking Revelation

Why unhappy Gunners star has to leave as soon as possible.

There’s no denying Arsenal’s eagerly anticipated club-record move to sign Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid last summer has failed to meet expectations. Here’s five reasons the club now need to get rid of his toxic influence at the Emirates Stadium as soon as possible:

1) Ozil never wanted Gunners switch

It has been revealed by Spanish source Marca that Mesut Ozil is angry at his father for persuading him to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal. It is now not surprising that the German playmaker has looked so disinterested in his time with the Gunners so far – he never wanted to play for them in the first place, and Arsene Wenger cannot be carrying a non-committed player.

2) Sale would lay down a marker

Questions have been asked about Arsenal and their battling qualities over the years, with many players seeming like they’re not putting in the full effort required for the club. The sale of a big name like Ozil for not being entirely devoted to the club would lay down a marker and show that anything less than 100% effort is not acceptable.

3) Market value still high

There may not be a better time to sell him – Ozil may be in a slump and suffering with injuries, but having shone for Germany in their World Cup win this summer, he is still a big name that many top clubs would love to have. Still, if he carries on like this for much longer his value will shoot down and the club may struggle to offload him for any reasonable price.

4) Not a position they need anyway

Even amid the initial excitement around Ozil’s signing, it was noted that Arsenal brought in a player they didn’t exactly need, with the club blessed with many top quality attacking midfield players such as Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey and more. Ozil is arguably a class above some of these on his day, but on current form he certainly wouldn’t be missed.

5) Ideal replacement available

Besides, there is an ideal Ozil replacement on the market at the moment in the form of Marco Reus, with the Borussia Dortmund star available for just £20m next summer due to a clause in his contract. The German forward would probably be an upgrade on his fellow countryman in that number ten role, and Arsenal should step up their interest to fight off other clubs for his signature.
