Check out the top ten below…

10) Chris Smalling, Manchester United

The centre-back has been slightly disappointing since moving to Old Trafford. For someone who had the potential to be one of the best defenders in the league, he has not fulfilled his potential.

9) Hatem Ben Arfa, Hull City

The Frenchman is unbelievably talented, but seems to have some problems with commitment. A refusal to defend doesn’t help his cause either.

8) Fredy Guarin, Inter Milan

The midfielder has been tipped for a big money move for years, but has never made it. Does that really mean that he’s overrated?

7) Hulk, Zenit St. Petersburg

With the cool name and the massive money spent on him by Zenit, you might expect Hulk to be top class. However, there is a reason that he is stuck in the Russian Premier League.

6) Willian, Chelsea

The Brazilian was bought for £32 million but hasn’t quite lived up to the fee. He has spent far too much time on the bench for someone who cost that much – but he’s a good footballer, who arguably lacks consistent clinical end product.

5) Jack Wilshere, Arsenal

This is perhaps a little harsh considering his recent performances for England, but compared to the kid who played Barcelona off the park in 2011; he has not progressed.

4) Erik Lamela, Tottenham

Bought for the impossible task of replacing Gareth Bale, Lamela has not hit his predecessor’s heights. A couple of great goals have made some good YouTube clips though.

3) Mario Balotelli, Liverpool

Bought by Manchester City, AC Milan, and now Liverpool on his reputation as a goalscorer, it has been his other reputation off the pitch that has made the headlines. At 24-years-old he doesn’t have much time to live up to his promise.

2) Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund

This choice is frankly ridiculous. talkSPORT have tried to explain it by saying that he hasn’t won anything, but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t one of the best players in the world.

1) Mesut Ozil, Arsenal

This choice is slightly less ridiculous than Reus, but it is still unwarranted. The German may have not been the world beater people expected after is £42.5 million transfer, but he has been a key part of both the Arsenal and Germany team. He’s also won a World Cup!
