Top 10 Premier League Players Who Have Run The Furthest This Season, Chelsea Pair Lead The Way
Are these correct? Or a bit harsh?…
Arsenal, Joel Campbell
After a good 2014 World Cup many expected Campbell to play a part for the Gunners this season. However, he has ended up only starting one match, and may leave the club in January.
Aston Villa, Shay Given
The Irishman was once one of the best goalkeeper in the league, but has struggled to get in to the Villa side since Brad Guzan worked his way in to the number one jersey in 2012/13. He went on loan to Middlesbrough for a while last season, and things have not improved since his return.
Burnley, Matt Taylor
Taylor will have started the season as one of the few players that would have been recognisable at Burnley to Premier League fans. However, a series of injuries has meant that he hasn’t played since August.
Chelsea, Mohamed Salah
The Egyptian has struggled to get in to Jose Mourinho’s unbeaten side, and could leave the club in January. Just a year after he joined in the aftermath of tearing Chelsea apart for Basel in the Champions League.
Crystal Palace, Jimmy Kebe
The winger is yet to play this season, and doesn’t even have a shirt number at the moment! Quite a fall from when he signed in August 2013.
Everton, Arouna Kone
Another yet to play this season, Kone has injury to blame for being sidelined. He hasn’t played since October 2013 due to a knee injury, and the signings of Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Eto’o in the last year mean that he will have trouble getting anywhere near the side once fully fit.
Hull City, Yannick Sagbo
The striker played 34 times for the Tigers last season, but has disappeared in this. After one game he was loaned out to Wolves, and who knows if he will play for the North East again.
Leicester City, Nick Powell
The midfielder went out on loan to Leicester City from Manchester United in order to get some game time. However, he has struggled to get on the pitch for the Foxes, making only two appearances since arriving. With so much expected of the youngster, this has been surprising.
Liverpool, Mamadou Sakho
The defender was bought for £18 million last January, but hasn’t played since September. With how bad Dejan Lovren has been playing this must be disappointing for the Frenchman.
Manchester City, Richard Wright
Yeah, he’s still there. Richard Wright. At Manchester City. He has been at the Citizens since 2012, and is yet to make a single competitive appearance. He is apparently at the club to make up the English quota they need in their 25 man squad.
Manchester United, Anderson
The Brazilian is still hanging around Old Trafford. He hasn’t played since August and could well leave the team in January, that’s if anyone will take him.
Newcastle United, Davide Santon
The full-back was a regular in his first three seasons, but has lost his place since. Hasn’t made an appearance this campaign, and could well be on his way to the exit door.
QPR, Shaun Wright-Phillips
Once England’s great hope, Wright-Phillips is now rotting in the Rs’ reserves, a bit of a downhill step in his career.
Southampton, Kelvin Davis
With the signing of Fraser Forster, Davis is now the third choice keeper at the Saints. It doesn’t look like he’ll be getting on the pitch anytime soon.
Stoke City, Wilson Palacios
The midfielder has never really fit in at Stoke, and it looks like he will leave when his contract is up in the summer.
Sunderland, Emmanuele Giacherrini
Seen as a coup when signed from Juventus, the diminutive winger has found the Premier League tough. He now hasn’t played for three months.
Swansea City, Federico Fernandez
Signed after playing in an Argentina side that made it to the World Cup final in the summer, Fernandez has made little impact at the Swans.
Tottenham, Benoit Assou-Ekotto
The footballer who doesn’t like football hasn’t even been in a matchday squad so far this campaign.
West Bromwich Albion, Brown Ideye
Even with the Baggies struggling for goals, the £10.5 million striker isn’t playing. No one really knows why.
West Ham, Jussi Jaaskelainen
The Icelandic keeper hasn’t played a single game since losing his place in the side to Adrian at the beginning of the season.
