Cesc Fabregas and Angel Di Maria may have been lauded for their creative prowess since their summer moves to England, but they both pale in comparison to Premier League stalwart James Milner.

Perhaps surprisingly, the Manchester City star tops the minutes per chance created list so far this season with a chance  every 23.8 minutes produced by the England midfielder.

Here are the Top Five (data originally compiled by Daily Mail).

5) Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea) – 27.5 minutes per chance

The former Barcelona and Arsenal man has taken the Premier League by storm since his return to the competition; creating 45 chances in his 14 games so far this season. Whilst providing two goals and 13 assists in all competitions.

4) Samir Nasri (Manchester City) – 27.1 minutes per chance

Despite requiring surgery earlier in the season to recover from a groin injury, Nasri is fourth on the list. The Frenchman’s two assists this season contributing to his 22 chances created in just 597 minutes of top flight football.

3) Angel Di Maria (Manchester United) – 27 minutes per chance

It’s been a bright start for the Argentine as he attempts to adapt to English football following his summer move from Real Madrid but he’s doing well; scoring three goals and creating 31 chances for the Red Devils.

2) Jesus Navas (Manchester City) – 26.8 minutes per chance

The second of three City stars to feature in the top five, Manuel Pellegrini’s side certainly aren’t short of creativity.

Navas’ quick pace and eye for a pass have made him crucial to City’s, and particular, Sergio Aguero’s form. The Spanish international has created 30 chances so far this season.

1) James Milner (Manchester City) – 23.7 minutes

And number one, despite just six starts and six appearances from the bench this season James Milner currently creates chances faster than any other player in the league.

With just 640 minutes played and 27 chances created, the England star has a chance creation rate of one every 23.7 minutes – which has allowed him four assists so far despite such sporadic game time.
