Manchester United Eye Four Bayern Munich Stars In Ambitious Transfer Plans: Report

Red Devils blotting Allianz Arena raid?

Manchester United are known to be lining up some ambitious moves in the transfer market in the near future, with plenty of talk that the Red Devils could be set for a mammoth spending spree to follow up their fine work that saw them sign the likes of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao this summer.

Part of their plans could be a four-man raid on Bayern Munich, with Louis van Gaal seemingly looking at a number of the top class attacking players currently on show at the Allianz Arena.

Although it seems unlikely that United would land all of these players, it could be that one or more of them will make their way to Old Trafford if various recent reports are to be believed.

The four Bayern stars on United’s radar are as follows:

1) Mario Gotze

According to the Daily Star, United could be lining up a stunning £50m move to sign Bayern Munich attacker Mario Gotze. The skillful German has been in superb form this season, following on from his World Cup final heroics for his national side in the summer.

2) Arjen Robben

Reports from the Guardian suggest that Arjen Robben is another Bayern Munich player being kept in mind as the club plot their big spending for next summer. The Dutch winger has long been one of Europe’s best players and could fit in well at Old Trafford under his old Netherlands national team boss van Gaal.

3) Thomas Muller

According to the Independent, Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller is another world class name at the Allianz Arena being considered by United as a replacement for Robin van Persie upfront, in what would certainly be a superb move in the transfer market, though undoubtedly an expensive one.

4) Xherdan Shaqiri

Also a target for Liverpool, it is reported by the Daily Express that United could make another raid on Bayern Munich for the signing of Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri. Unlike the other names on this list, the 23-year-old is not a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side, though he remains a highly rated talent.
