Manchester United have sacked European scout Torben Aakjaer after he allegedly posted several anti-immigration rants onto social networking site Facebook, the Guardian reports.

A Red Devils spokesman confirmed they had relieved Torben Aakjaer of his duties, having already suspended him earlier in the day when they were alerted to a stream of racially offensive Facebook comments, in which one mosque is described as a “conspiracy-potential prayer-shop”.
The comments also indicate support for Denmark to close off its borders and put “extra personnel on every crossover and exit so all that eastern Europe dirt and s**t can be kept out”.
Aakjaer, based in Copenhagen, has been an employee of the club since 2011, and is a frequent visitor to the club’s Carrington training complex to discuss potential transfer targets.
His Facebook account also contains several other derogatory references to Eastern Europeans, including a message of support for the right-wing Dansk Folkeparti’s views on border controls and a photograph of six pigs with a caption: “It’s time to deploy our secret weapons against Islamists.”
The club will now launch a swift internal investigation into the incident, which will be led by Chief Executive Ed Woodward and Chief Scandinavian Scout Simon Wells.
