Danny Welbeck is set to return for Arsenal this weekend as they prepare to take on Tottenham Hotspur in a highly anticipated North London derby, according to the Mirror.

Welbeck has been out of action for a month with a thigh injury, but is now back in full training and is expected to be part of Arsene Wenger’s squad that will travel to White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Things are beginning to look a bit more positive for the Gunners of late as they have drastically turned their form around since a disappointing 2-0 loss to Southampton on New Year’s Day.

Five successive victories since then – including a 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and the 5-0 demolition of Aston Villa on Sunday – means Wenger’s men are well on course for another top four finish.

However, Spurs are also looking good and in Harry Kane have the first Premier League player to score 20 goals in all competitions this season.

Whether Welbeck will start against Tottenham though is more doubtful, with Olivier Giroud having looked good in recent times as the lone striker and Wenger also likely to be welcoming back Alexis Sanchez to the starting XI.
