Liverpool Roundup: Berahino Hints At Transfer, Reds Legend Backs Merseyside Derby Win And New Sturridge Dance

Friday’s biggest stories for the Reds.

West Bromwich Albion angry that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Saido Berahino wants to leave

The Baggies have been left annoyed by Berahino’s comments that he wants to ‘move onto bigger things’, which has put the Reds and Spurs on alert.

The 21-year-old has been in decent form for West Brom this season and has been strongly linked with a move away from the Hawthorns as a result.

“If I can keep them up and score as many goals as I can, I’m pretty sure the fans wouldn’t mind me pushing on and moving on to bigger things,” Berahino was quoted by the Express and Star.

Club legend Jamie Carragher thinks Reds will be too strong for Everton

Ahead of the Merseyside derby on Saturday, Anfield favourite Carragher believes his former side will be too strong for the Toffees at Goodison Park.

Both sides have struggled to recreate their impressive form from last season in 2014/15, but the Sky Sports pundit still has faith in a victory for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

“It will be close on Saturday but I just fancy Liverpool to edge it with the form they are in and the attacking options they have. Liverpool to win 2-1,” Carragher told the Liverpool Echo.

Rodgers to be given improved transfer budget after bumper £300m kit deal

The Merseyside club have agreed the biggest kit deal in their history with American sportswear firm New Balance – the parent company of current shirt sponsors Warrior – reports the Telegraph.

This new deal is expected to be worth around £300m and the effect should see Rodgers given more money to spend on new talent in the summer.

It is still some way short of the world record £750m deal that Manchester United agreed with Adidas last year however.

Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic could be available to sign in the summer

With neither Brad Jones or Simon Mignolet greatly impressing between the sticks this term there is speculation Rodgers wants a new ‘keeper in the summer.

This could well be Inter No.1 Handanovic after his agent Federico Pastorello suggested his client could leave the San Siro, although AS Roma and Man United are also believed to be interested.

“For now we are not talking about it, as he has a contract until June 2016. There were three very soft meetings with the Nerazzurri directors. What does Handanovic want to do? Well, he certainly loves Italy,” Pastorello was quoted by the Daily Express.

Daniel Sturridge filmed in bizarre dancing video with Mario Balotelli

Sturridge made his long awaited return to the team last weekend in the Premier League clash with West Ham United and scored not long after coming off the bench.

The Merseysiders won the game 2-0 and both the England international and Balotelli were clearly pleased with the result afterwards.
