(Video) Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham Premier League Highlights: Mario Balotelli The Anfield Hero

What a win for the Reds…

You couldn’t have written a better script after Liverpool’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur tonight.

Spurs came from behind twice to get on equal terms with the Reds, however ‘flop’ Mario Balotelli came off the bench to net his first Premier League goal for the Reds and secure three hard fought for points – which will do wonders in endearing the Italian to the unconvinced Anfield faithful.

Daniel Sturridge came close early on with the first shot on target, but it was Lazar Markovic to get the goals flowing with a piece of individual excellence.

The lead, however, didn’t last long – as on fire Harry Kane got Tottenham back into the game, yet the 21-year-old was quiet for the remainder of the game.

A dubious penalty decision resulted in Steven Gerrard expertly putting Liverpool back in front, and while Spurs came close to grabbing a point with an equaliser from Dembele, all eyes were on Balotelli as he grabbed the winner with a simple but crucial finish – and his first league goal for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The victory takes the Reds to within three points off fourth placed Arsenal.
