Manchester City Fan Speaks Out Over Confrontation With Barcelona Star Neymar

Barcelona look to have made a giant step to the quarter-finals

A Manchester City fan seated next to the Barcelona bench at the Etihad Stadium last night has spoken for the first time regarding his confrontation with Brazilian superstar Neymar (via Manchester Evening News).

As Neymar was substituted the fan, named as Aziz Hammad, made diving gestures towards the Barca man which seemed to spark a heated exchange of words at the end of the game (footage below).

However, Aziz maintains his innocence and claims that he didn’t say anything abusive and was just pointing out that Neymar likes to go to the floor rather frequently.

“He stared at me for a few seconds and looked to see if his manager was watching,” Aziz said.

“Then he gestured for me to come over but straight away the whistle went. Then he came over and put his face right in my face.

“I didn’t know whether he was going to push me or what he was going to do. He was saying something to me in either Portuguese or Spanish but I couldn’t understand him.

“I kept doing the diving gesture to annoy him. Then the stewards pulled me away and he went down the tunnel.”

The Barca man had an indifferent performance despite a positive result for his team and seemed to be struggling with a knock for most of the game.
