The Reds are set to renew their interest in the 27-year-old at the end of the season with a £10 million bid being touted by the Daily Express.

The forward was a target for the Merseysiders previously, but Gameiro elected to join Sevilla when he eventually exited Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain.

Gameiro only moved to La Liga in 2013 but enjoyed a brilliant debut season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions and helping his side to Europa League glory.

But this season has seen Gameiro lose his spot to Carlos Becca in the forward-line after a bad groin injury ruled him out for a sustained period at the beginning of the campaign and he has since been unable to reclaim his place.

“I have offers, but I feel very good in Spain,” he said. “It is a style that suits me and I still have things to do. We will see what will happen at the end of the season,” said Gameiro.

And whilst he wouldn’t reveal any names, the frontman did say there is definitely interest for him from English clubs.

He said: “It will not be at Marseille. Maybe in England or in Germany, but the quality of life for my family is not the same as in Spain.”
