The Brazilian, who also played with Costa at their previous club Atletico Madrid, believes that the Spaniard is not a violent player, but a winner who gives it his all in everything he does – even in off-the-pitch activities!

Speaking to the Sun, Luis said: “Diego is not violent, nor aggressive. Reputation doesn’t mean anything. Diego has been playing like this since he started playing football — he never changes.

“He is intense. He tries to win all the balls in any way possible. Those are the kind of players we need — and we have them in the team.

“He always wants to win — in training, in video games, in cards.”
