Deflected goals from John Terry and Diego Costa saw Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the 2015 Capital One Cup final on Sunday.

Spurs matched the Blues in most departments, but fortune favoured Jose Mourinho’s men on the day.

Here’s how Mauricio Pochettino’s players rated at Wembley…

GK: Hugo Lloris – 6.5/10

Unlucky to be beaten by two deflected goals. Produced good saves to keep out efforts from Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill.

RB: Kyle Walker – 5.5/10

Started the match very well, but began to struggle after taking a knock to his ankle just before half-time. Will probably be credited with an own goal, having flicked Costa’s off-target shot past Lloris.

LB: Danny Rose – 6/10

Rose was very positive going forward, using his speed and stamina to overlap on countless occasions. Unfortunately, his final ball was not quite good enough.

CB: Eric Dier – 6.5/10

Stood up to Costa very well and did not look at all fazed by the big occasion. This 21-year-old clearly has a bright future ahead of him.

CB: Jan Vertonghen – 6/10

No major errors today from Vertonghen, who was awful in the Europa League in midweek. However, the Belgian was little better than OK.

CM: Ryan Mason – 6/10

Lots of energy during a 70-minute appearance, but wasted possession too frequently with three wild shots.

CM: Nabil Bentaleb – 7/10

Looks like the real deal for Spurs. Bentaleb was confident on the ball, and he was strong and well disciplined when Chelsea had it.

AM: Andros Townsend – 5/10

Townsend is a one-trick pony and his lack of versatility was all too evident as he shared a pitch with creative genius Eden Hazard.

AM: Nacer Chadli – 4.5/10

Was rather unproductive in attack and he cost his side dearly by giving away a cheap free kick, from which Chelsea, who had not looked very dangerous in the first half, took a scrappy lead.

AM: Christian Eriksen – 6.5/10

Hit the crossbar with a brilliant free-kick early on and threatened the Chelsea goal on a couple of other occasions.

ST: Harry Kane – 7/10

With next to no help from Chadli and Townsend, Kane’s task was a very tough one. Nevertheless, he worked tirelessly for his team, winning lots of free kicks and carving out a handful of scoring opportunities.

Subs:

Mousa Dembele – 5/10

Replaced Townsend on 61 minutes. Was equally anonymous.

Erik Lamela – 4.5/10

Came on for Mason with 20 minutes to go, but his cameo could have been ever shorter had the ref picked up what looked like an attempted elbow on Costa.

Roberto Soldado – 5.5/10

Came close to netting a consolation goal with a near-post flick from a late corner, but that was his only contribution in 15 minutes.
