10. Defender – Cezar Azpilicueta – £18.48m

Age – 25

The Spaniard has earned the left-back role under Jose Mourinho – keeping £15.8m signing Filipe Luis on the sidelines – and has cemented the role superbly, following the departure of Blues favourite Ashley Cole.

9. Midfielder – Ramires – £22m

Age – 27

Arguably quite a high value for the midfielder, with Ramires not possessing the technical ability typically associated with a Brazilian international – constantly chasing his own dismal first touch. However, his energy has been indispensable since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

8. Goalkeeper – Thibaut Courtois – £26.4m

Age – 22

It’s hard to believe that the Belgium ace isn’t valued higher than this – at just 22-years-old, the stopper has all the potential to go on to become the world’s best in between the sticks.

7. Winger – Willian – £26.4m

Age – 26

Not only does the Brazilian have outstanding ability – providing Chelsea with excellent balance on the wings with Eden Hazard on the opposite side – but he’s a superb link player, and hard-worker, who isn’t above tracking back for his team.

6. Winger – Juan Cuadrado – £28.16m

Age – 26

Signed in the January transfer window from Fiorentina for a sizeable £27m, the winger has great potential, and the Blues faithful are expecting great performances from the former Serie A star.

5. Midfielder – Nemanja Matic – £29.92m

Age – 26

Returned to Stamford Bridge last January, and what a signing this has turned out to be. Following the departure of legend Frank Lampard, there were inevitable worries that Chelsea would struggle without the talisman, yet Matic has quashed any worries.

4. Attacking midfielder – Oscar – £35.2m

Age – 23

Brazil’s no.11 settled in at Stamford Bridge in almost no time at all, in part down to countrymen Ramires and Willian, and he has injected the Blues side with immense energy, and excellent vision. Should get even better with the world-class Cesc Fabregas to learn from.

3. Striker – Diego Costa – £44m

Age – 26

Chelsea have landed themselves a unique striker – his aggression, combined with his killer instinct in front of goal, make him a threat to any top side in Europe.

2. Midfielder – Cesc Fabregas – £44m

Age – 27

With 18 assists in all competitions, the Spaniard is one of the best playmakers in the world.

1. Winger – Eden Hazard – £52.8m

Age – 24

If Hazard begins to improve his goalscoring record, his already outstanding weekly performances could propel him into the elite bracket of players. The winger’s market value could then be sensational.
