Here we take a look at who were the week’s star performers:

GK) Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

The Blues stopper was in fine form, denying West Ham’s Diafra Sakho a potential hat-trick.

RB) Emre Can (Liverpool)

The 20 year old defender/midfielder in well on his way to becoming world-class.

CB) John Terry (Chelsea)

Did a great job of keeping a threatening West Ham front line at bay.

CB) Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

Like Terry, he worked his guts out to keep West Ham out and maintain a clean sheet for the Blues.

LB) Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal)

Always offers an attacking threat down the left flank.

AMR) David Silva (Man City)

Creative force in a laboured Man City win. Scored the crucial first goal.

MC) Ryan Mason (Spurs)

Got his first senior goal for Spurs in an assured midfield performance that belies his young age.

MC) Jordan Henderson (Liverpool)

The best player on the pitch in Liverpool’s win, scored another wonder goal.

AML) Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

Almost scored a repeat of his Man City goal, looks like the best creative player in the league on current form.

ST) Diafra Sakho (West Ham)

A battering ram who gave Chelsea no end of trouble. Could have had a hat-trick if not for Courtois.

ST) Gaby Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)

Scored the opener in Villa’s vital three points against rivals West Brom last night.
