Man City want to sell three players – and here’s why it HAS to be these guys

Rumour has it that Manchester City are ready to offload three big names in this summer’s transfer window, with manager Manuel Pellegrini clearly under pressure to rebuild this fading squad.

The players believed to be in the firing line are Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna, but here’s a look at the three they really should be getting rid of…

1) Vincent Kompany

A player fast becoming known as the Fernando Torres of defence – Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is clearly a spent force and is now becoming a liability at the back. There were signs of his decline towards the end of last season and the club now has to think about replacing the Belgian with a top quality centre-back playing at his peak, rather than one who was great three years ago.

2) David Silva

Despite some decent stats this season, it’s clear from watching David Silva in most games that he simply doesn’t dictate the play or control the tempo as well as he used to. The Spanish international is clearly a class act once in a while, but he lacks the consistency and particularly the ability to make an impact in the big games, with City surely set to consider more reliable options in the transfer market with the likes of Marco Reus and Koke possibly available this summer.

3) Edin Dzeko

City surely have to give up on Edin Dzeko now. The Bosnian striker had a great run towards the end of last season but his form always seems to come in occasional bursts without any real sign that he can do the job week in, week out. A little slow and prone to some glaring misses, now is surely the time for the club to let him go before he loses any of his re-sale value.
