Liverpool transfer news

GK: Joe Hart

Easily England’s number one after his fine form for Manchester City this season, Joe Hart continues in goal.

DC: Phil Jones

Used to playing as part of a back three for Manchester United, Phil Jones gets in on the right-hand side.

DC: Gary Cahill

Central to the defence, Chelsea star Gary Cahill is comfortably one of the team’s best defenders.

DC: Phil Jagielka

Still going strong for Everton, Phil Jagielka makes up the back three.

MC: Jordan Henderson

Fast becoming one of the Premier League’s top midfielders, Jordan Henderson has shone in Liverpool’s fine recent run in a 3-4-3 formation.

MC: Michael Carrick

Playing in a similar system for Manchester United, Michael Carrick must be first choice alongside Henderson at the moment.

MR: James Milner

A player in fine form for Manchester City, James Milner has the energy and quality to make a great right-sided wing-back in this setup.

ML: Leighton Baines

An attack-minded left-back with great delivery on his left foot, Everton’s Leighton Baines might be the best bet for left midfield with these tactics.

AMC: Raheem Sterling

Rather than playing wing-back as he has to largely poor effect for Liverpool, Raheem Sterling should return to a central role for England, playing as Philippe Coutinho does for the Reds.

FC: Wayne Rooney

One of the two main strikers, but also able to drop back and swap positions with Sterling, Wayne Rooney continues in this new-look England side.

FC: Harry Kane

Finally, Harry Kane simply has to get into the side based on his recent form for Tottenham Hotspur, and could have plenty of service with the likes of Sterling, Rooney, Milner and Baines as outlets.
