The Spaniard is part of Steven Gerrard’s team that is taking on a side made by Carragher at Anfield on Sunday. Other ex-Reds stars will be taking part, with Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez amongst the players taking part in the match. Heroes of other clubs, such as Thierry Henry, John Terry, and Didier Drogba are also involved in the fixture.

The Bayern Munich star said: “I’m glad I’m in Stevie’s team because I’m pretty sure Carra will be a terrible manager. So I’d rather be in Stevie’s team and it’s going to be a great game and we are going to have great fun. It’s going to be good to see friends who we have been apart from for a few years, so it’s going to be really nice going back to the stadium.”

The actual Liverpool team look likely to fail in their attempts to qualify for the Champions League at the moment. After losing to Manchester United recently they find themselves five points off the fourth placed Red Devils with just eight games left in the campaign.
