Manchester United transfer news

Louis van Gaal managed to clear out a number of other unwanted players last summer, bidding farewell to the likes of Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Wilfried Zaha and then Darren Fletcher in the January transfer window.

More players now seem set to follow as van Gaal looks to continue to put his own stamp on this squad at United, though these experienced first-team players will no doubt need replacing…

1) Robin van Persie

With just ten goals this season, Robin van Persie has looked unfit and past his best as injury problems have prevented him from getting a good run in the starting lineup going. Despite the Dutchman’s great service, it looks like he will be ditched by United this summer.

2) Javier Hernandez

Farmed out on loan to Real Madrid this season, Javier Hernandez has not done a great deal to show he is ready to return to the fold at Old Trafford and it now seems he’ll be another sent packing this summer.

3) Nani

Loaned out to Sporting Lisbon, Nani doesn’t appear to be in van Gaal’s plans for next season either as United look set to call time on his career with the club.

4) Rafael

Barely used by United this season, Rafael no longer looks like having a future at Old Trafford and is another big name looking likely to leave at the end of this season, according to the Daily Star.
