Guingamp vs. Evian Ligue 1 preview: Can either side return to winning ways?

Posted by

En Avant de Guingamp will look to return to winning ways when they welcome Evian Thonon Gaillard in Ligue 1 action on Saturday.

When: 7.00 pm GMT, 18 April 2015

Where: Stade du Roudourou, Guingamp

While Guingamp sit up in 12th, they are not completely sure of their status in the division next season and, with four games to play, sit only four points clear of the relegation zone.

They will be desperate to confirm their Ligue 1 status with three points against 15th-placed Evian on Saturday evening.

Pascal Dupraz’s side have struggled for consistency this season, while their defensive play has also let them down.

They have won only once in their last five, but will be desperate to upset the odds and nick a point (or three) away at Guingamp. With many of the sides around and below them playing each other, Evian will be targeting Saturday’s match as a chance to pull away from the drop zone.

L’ETG will surely draw confidence from the fact that Guingamp’s versatile midfielder-cum-forward Sambou Yatabare is suspended and will not be present in the weekend’s clash.
