Liverpool look set to conduct a major squad overhaul after what has proven a most disappointing campaign with the Daily Mail claiming as many as ten players could be set for Anfield exits this summer.

Brendan Rodgers has seen his side fall out of the race for a top four finish, with hopes of securing Champions League qualification hanging by a thread, and watched on as Liverpool threw away the lead against Aston Villa in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final.

Therefore it’s perhaps no surprise that Liverpool would look to shake-up their squad though the idea of ten players departing is perhaps a tad extreme.

Here are the ten players the Daily Mail claim could be on their way out this summer.

Steven Gerrard

Club captain is to leave Anfield after a glittering career with a move to the LA Galaxy already completed. Arguably the 34 year old hasn’t impressed for much of the current campaign though he has still racked up ten goals in all competitions.

Kolo Toure

Veteran defender has dropped some real clangers this term and is out of contract in the summer though has apparently been offered a new deal.

Glen Johnson

Full-back has played a supporting role this season and is certainly not the player he once was and Brendan Rodgers is apparently willing to allow the experienced England man to leave on a free transfer.

Fabio Borini

Italian forward impressed during his season long loan spell at Sunderland last term but has barely featured since returning to Liverpool and is considered surplus to requirements.

Rickie Lambert

The former Southampton man has looked the shadow of the player who was hugely impressive at St Mary’s and is another who will be made available in the summer.

Raheem Sterling

England international is the subject of growing interest with Man City and Juventus both keen on the 20 year old contract rebel.

Javier Manquillo

Spanish full-back was brought in from Atletico Madrid on a two season long loan deal but is apparently set to return to the Vicente Calderon having failed to secure a regular first team berth.

Brad Jones

Aussie keeper hasn’t looked all that stable as a back-up custodian and is set for an Anfield exit.

Simon Mignolet

Belgian keeper may have improved in recent months but is nonetheless on his way out with Liverpool looking to bring in fresh options between the sticks.

Mario Balotelli

The last of the ten named by the Daily Mail and it’s no surprise that Liverpool would look to cut their losses on a £16m signing who has managed just one Premier League goal all season.
