Kicker broke the news on Thursday that the Red Devils were planning on capitalising on the out of favour Germany international at the Allianz Arena, whose contract expires next summer, by tabling a bid at the end of the season.
The German news outlet insisted that the claim was as a result of a reliable source from England.
Louis van Gaal worked with Schweinsteiger during his managerial stint with the Bundesliga giants, and was the first manager to hand the German a central midfield role. The Dutchman now reportedly wants to work with the experienced midfielder again in the Premier League.
However, according to Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk, there have definitely been no discussions between Bayern and Manchester United as of yet. Falk doesn’t deny that the Red Devils are interested in the 30-year-old, but writes, ‘Fact: There have been no talks.’
Nach @SPORTBILD schreibt nun auch @kicker_bl_li von einem Interesse von @ManUtd an @BSchweinsteiger. Fakt ist: Es gab noch keine Gespräche

Schweinsteiger has been in and out of Pep Guardiola’s side this term – having made just 14 league starts – and could be considering leaving the club he has spent his entire career with.
