Barcelona star Javier Mascherano says he doesn’t want to be like Lionel Messi, claiming it would be very hard to prove every single day that you were the best in the world.

According to the site Ole, Mascherano said he wasn’t jealous of his domestic and international team mate, and would prefer to play without the pressure.
The Barcelona defender has just won the league and is now very close to winning both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
“You have to be very special to be able the great responsibility of being the best in the world,” said Mascherano in the recent interview. The former Liverpool player also said that he regretted the departure of Xavi, claiming it would be “weird” to start next season without him.
Mascherano concluded the interview by talking about the Champions League, saying that he knew Juventus wouldn’t be an easy rival.
