The Premier League runners-up are in need of some major signings this summer after a disappointing season which has ended trophyless, and rumour has it that they could splash out as much as £85m to bring Pogba to the Etihad Stadium.

The French international, 22, is regarded as one of the best young players in the world at the moment and there’s no doubt that he could add something to this City side.

Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping his club can see off strong competition from the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for Pogba’s signature, and Mangala has also revealed he thinks City would benefit from his arrival.

Speaking to The Sun, the former Porto man gave a glowing review of what he knows about his fellow countryman.

“He’s a great player who has everything,” the centre-back said. “Manchester City or any team would love to have him in their ranks.

“I know him well, not just from the Under-21s, but also the full French national squad. He’s a great lad, very mature — both on and off the field.

“For somebody so young, he has experienced a lot with the Serie A titles he has won and the Champions League final this year.”
