Tottenham transfer news

Tottenham Hotspur could bid farewell to as many as ten first-team players in this summer’s transfer window, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado among the biggest names linked with an exit.

The Daily Telegraph details every player Spurs are considering cashing in on, with manager Mauricio Pochettino seemingly unhappy with various members of his squad at the moment.

After finishing 5th in the Premier League this season, Tottenham will certainly feel they can do better, and before bringing new players in, it might make sense for Pochettino to rid himself of unwanted players at White Hart Lane, with many of the club’s recent signings failing to really make a big impression in English football.

One notable disappointment has been Erik Lamela, though the Telegraph claim he will be spared in this summer cull, with the following ten players mentioned as those who could leave if good enough offers come in:

1) Emmanuel Adebayor

Although the Telegraph claim that Adebayor has turned down offers to leave Tottenham in the recent past, the 31-year-old remains a name Spurs are keen to rid themselves of, with the former Arsenal man falling behind Harry Kane in the pecking order this season.

2) Roberto Soldado

Making 24 appearances in 2014/15, Soldado scored only one Premier League goal for Tottenham, and it is no surprise to see the Spaniard listed as one of the names who could be offloaded this summer.

3) Aaron Lennon

Sent out on loan to Everton for the second half of this season, Aaron Lennon no longer looks like becoming a regular for Spurs, despite a long career with the north London club. The Telegraph claims he is available for £6m this summer, though Everton do not seem likely to sign him permanently.

4) Paulinho

A big-name signing when he joined, Brazilian midfielder Paulinho has certainly not done the business for Tottenham and is now another looking like heading for the exit.

5) Etienne Capoue

Another failed signing from that ill-fated summer of 2013, Etienne Capoue has not lived up to expectations for Tottenham, and is no longer guaranteed a place after the emergence of youngsters like Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason at White Hart Lane.

6) Vlad Chiriches

Although the Telegraph claims that Spurs have rejected an offer for Vlad Chiriches, he is another player who could move for the right price this summer, having also struggled to establish himself in England.

7) Younes Kaboul

Despite being made club captain at the start of the season, Younes Kaboul looks past his best and is no longer a guaranteed starter for Tottenham.

8) Lewis Holtby

Sent out on loan, Lewis Holtby has struggled to show his fine form from his time with Schalke during his stint with Tottenham, and the club hope to get him off their books in this transfer window.

9) Kyle Walker

Once thought of as a highly promising youngster, Kyle Walker’s career looks to have stalled in recent times and he is now another player who could be let go this summer if a good enough bid comes in for him.

10) Benjamin Stambouli

The only Pochettino signing on this list, Benjamin Stambouli was brought in by Spurs last summer but has not really managed to make the step up to Premier League football, with the Frenchman now another expected to be let go.
