A look at the highest transfer fees ever received by Arsenal, with some big names sold for good amounts of cash in recent years…

5) Robin van Persie – £22.5m

A controversial move as club captain and star striker Robin van Persie made the move from Arsenal to rivals Manchester United in 2012, with the £22.5m striker going on to fire the Red Devils to the Premier League title the following season.

4) Nicolas Anelka – £23.5m

Still one of the most expensive players sold by Arsenal, Nicolas Anelka joined Real Madrid for a whopping £23.5m as a youngster, which famously allowed the Gunners to sign their best ever player in Thierry Henry.

3) Emmanuel Adebayor – £25m

A great sale for a totally overrated player, Emmanuel Adebayor moved from Arsenal to Manchester City for a ridiculous £25m, and the club later struggled to offload the misfiring striker to Tottenham.

2) Marc Overmars – £28m

Another big sale from Arsene Wenger’s early days at the club, Marc Overmars moved for around £28m to Barcelona, one of many players to make that particular move.

1) Cesc Fabregas – £35m

One of Arsenal’s best players in recent times, they arguably should have got more money when selling Cesc Fabregas back to his hometown club Barcelona, who were unwilling to fork out more for one of their own.
