Benfica midfielder Adel Taarabt has launched a scathing attack on his former manager Harry Redknapp, calling him a bad coach and a bad football manager.

The Moroccan, who played under Redknapp at Queens Park Rangers, and who also had a spell at Redknapp’s old club Tottenham Hotspur, has slammed the mentality at Loftus Road after their relegation to the Championship this season.

The 26-year-old is no stranger to controversy, and he has shown his outspoken side again with an interview in The Sun, revealing a number of the problems at QPR in recent years.

“Harry is not a bad person but he is a very bad coach and, for me, a very bad manager,” he said.

Speaking about QPR in general, he said: “The club will be in trouble. It was a disaster.

“We are bottom of the league and after every game we have Wednesday off and Sunday off.

“What’s that? You should be in looking at videos and working.”
