The big transfer stories are coming in thick and fast as ever after the official opening of the transfer window on the 1st of July, and here’s our take on 20 of the biggest sagas and how they seem likeliest to end up, including thoughts on Raheem Sterling and Arturo Vidal

1) Paul Pogba (Juventus)

Interested clubs: Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG

One of the best young players on the planet, Juventus star Paul Pogba is one of the most talked about players in this summer’s transfer window, and recent reports suggest his future could be close to being resolved after Barcelona officials’ trip to Italy to discuss a deal for next season.

Prediction: Barcelona

2) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United

Another big player on the books at Juventus at the moment, Arturo Vidal’s fine form has seen him strongly linked with a £21m move to Arsenal, with the Gunners seemingly ahead of their rivals in pursuit of the Chilean.

Prediction: Arsenal

Arsenal rumours

3) David de Gea (Manchester United)

Interested clubs: Real Madrid

One of the best goalkeepers in the world at the moment, David de Gea wants out of Manchester United and, despite Louis van Gaal playing hardball, should get his dream move to the Bernabeu.

Prediction: Real Madrid

4) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Interested clubs: Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid

Although City have failed with two bids already, they seem the most serious about landing this top English talent to boost their attack and homegrown players quota.

Prediction: Manchester City

5) Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Interested clubs: Inter Milan

Wanted by his old manager Roberto Mancini, it seems like Yaya Toure might prove too expensive for the Italian giants, despite a dip in form last season. Still potentially world class if at his best and confident.

Prediction: Manchester City stay

6) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona

A player whose future has seemingly become more clear, at least for the time being. Despite so much interest from around Europe, Marco Reus has recently signed a new contract and talk of him moving seems to have died down.

Prediction: Borussia Dortmund stay

7) Lukas Podolski (Arsenal)

Interested clubs: Galatasaray, Schalke, FC Cologne

A move that seems to be edging closer, Lukas Podolski will surely be on his way out of Arsenal this summer after a poor run of form for both the Gunners and on loan at Inter Milan.

Prediction: Galatasaray

8) Pedro (Barcelona)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter Milan

A top player on his day, Pedro has some tough competition for places at Barcelona and supposedly wants to move, with £18m enough to prise him away. It’s anyone’s guess at the moment, but Inter perhaps need him most.

Prediction: Inter Milan

9) Kevin Strootman (AS Roma)

Interested clubs: Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid

A Dutch playmaker with plenty of class but some issues with injuries, Kevin Strootman has been most strongly linked with Manchester United, though less so in recent months after sitting out the end of the season. Perhaps this summer will prove too early for him.

Prediction: AS Roma stay

10) Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg)

Interested clubs: Manchester City, Manchester United

Most strongly linked with a big move to City, Kevin De Bruyne would be an ideal signing for the Etihad Stadium club, and talks may already be underway over a £35m deal.

Prediction: Manchester City

11) Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham

One of the best midfielders in the Premier League last season, Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin is almost certain to move this summer, and recent reports name United as his biggest admirers, though they have had a bid rejected.

Prediction: Manchester United

12) Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Manchester United

Another big player at Borussia Dortmund, Mats Hummels may also have committed his future to the club, with rumours dying down of late after he supposedly snubbed a move to Old Trafford.

Prediction: Borussia Dortmund stay

13) Ilkay Gundogan (Borussia Dortmund)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona

A fine player who could be a big hit at any of the above-mentioned clubs, Ilkay Gundogan is another who is surely staying put now after agreeing a one-year contract extension.

Prediction: Borussia Dortmund stay

14) Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus

A world class striker who wants out of Napoli, Gonzalo Higuain is set to spark a transfer battle this summer, though his club want £67m for him. At that price, he surely won’t move, but we think the Italians will accept less and let him complete a long-awaited move.

Prediction: Arsenal

15) Toby Alderweireld (Atletico Madrid)

Interested clubs: Chelsea, Tottenham, Southampton

A player who impressed on loan at Southampton last season, Toby Alderweireld is now attracting plenty of interest and looks set to join Tottenham after recent developments.

Prediction: Tottenham

16) Arda Turan (Atletico Madrid)

Interested clubs: Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona

A classy Turkish international who could be another big name leaving Atletico this summer, most recent reports in Spain this player’s future is already more or less wrapped up.

Prediction: Barcelona

17) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, PSG

For some reason not wanted at Real Madrid, French goal machine Karim Benzema could be on the move this summer, though sadly interest from English clubs does not seem sufficiently strong right now.

Prediction: PSG

18) Alvaro Morata (Juventus)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid

Wanted back by his old club, Alvaro Morata has impressed big-name sides with his fine displays in his first season with Juventus, but we’re unsure if he’ll be moving this quickly, particularly after Carlos Tevez’s exit.

Prediction: Juventus stay

19) Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich)

Interested clubs: Manchester United

A long-term target of Louis van Gaal’s, Bastian Schweinsteiger is set to make a decision on his future, and with opportunities limited at Bayern, we think he’ll go.

Prediction: Manchester United

20) Julian Draxler (Schalke)

Interested clubs: Arsenal, Manchester United

One of the top youngsters in Germany, Julian Draxler’s form has faded in recent times, so a big-money exit from Schalke perhaps seems unlikely for this summer.

Prediction: Schalke stay
