Fee agreed: Manchester United boost as playmaker transfer nears conclusion

Deal back on as United reach agreement.

Manchester United look to have agreed a fee with Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer of Angel Di Maria this summer, bringing in a good price for the Argentine.

The 27-year-old has only been at Old Trafford for one season but looks to be on his way out of the club after talks in Paris yesterday, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The Sky Sports pundit tweeted that Di Maria’s price will be £44.2m, which is more than the Guardian reported PSG had bid for the former Real Madrid man earlier this week.

United will be disappointed not to have seen the best of Di Maria during his short stay at Old Trafford, with the South American playmaker previously looking like one of the best creative midfield players in Europe in a hugely successful stay at the Bernabeu.

Still, the Red Devils have quality attackers like Memphis Depay, Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj in reserve, so may not miss Di Maria’s presence too much next season, even if some players have been linked with moves to the club as potential replacements for the outgoing star.

According to the Daily Express, it could be that United will bring in Barcelona winger Pedro to fill that void out wide, in what looks an exciting move for the club, while Sky Sports add that Di Maria’s exit is indeed close.
