Biglia Man Utd – 5 signings Red Devils should make instead.

Biglia Man Utd is one of the stories of the day as a detailed report from The Sun suggests the Argentine could be close to sealing a move to Old Trafford.

However, with Louis van Gaal already spending around £43m on new midfielders this summer, it remains to be seen why this Serie A star is suddenly a priority, with United surely in much greater need of signings in other positions.

With that in mind, here’s our suggestion for five targets the Red Devils should be trying to bring in instead of Biglia…

1) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Tipped to be on his way to Arsenal, why are Manchester United not competing to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema? The Frenchman would be a big upgrade on their current options up front, with the club well short of depth after letting both Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao leave.

2) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

Another big name who could be a terrific signing up front, Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has been linked several times with a move to Old Trafford in recent months and should be a top priority.

3) John Stones (Everton)

Instead of yet another midfielder, United urgently need signings in defence and should do all they can to sign Everton youngster John Stones ahead of rivals Chelsea.

4) Nicolas Otamendi (Valencia)

Another ideal centre-back signing that United have been slow to finalise, Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi would be perfect for this side’s current problems and should be snapped up before the transfer deadline.

5) Hugo Lloris (Tottenham)

With David de Gea surely leaving, another goalkeeper is needed, and it looks like there could be some hope of landing Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris, another player who must take priority over Biglia.
