4. Arsenal refuse to grant Joel Campbell’s exit

According to the Daily Express, the Gunners will not sell striker Joel Campbell for any less than £7million this summer.

The 23-year-old is reported to have been offered a five-year contract by Palermo, but Maurizio Zamparini, the club’s president, claims that Arsenal’s financial demands have put any deal on hold.

“Arsenal aren’t moving from their initial positions and Campbell is unattainable as of now.

“If some margins open up for a negotiation then all for the better, otherwise we can’t do anything.”

3. Benzema transfer blow

The Independent claim that Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, valued at £45million, remains a priority target for Arsene Wenger, but Florentino Perez, Los Blancos president, is an admirer of the France international and is adamant that he won’t be sold.

2. Edinson Cavani ‘talks’

As well as enquiring over Rabiot’s availability, Arsenal have opened talks with his £35million-rated Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Edinson Cavani, but any possible deal is not close to completion as the close of the summer window fast approaches.

1. Besiktas make Ozil ‘enquiry’

Erol Kaynar, former Besiktas board member, claims that Erdan Torunogullari, the Turkish club’s transfer chief, has met with the agent of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.
