GK: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

With a penalty save to cap a commanding display, Thibaut Courtois had a fine game for Chelsea against West Brom, even if his defenders weren’t at their best as the side let in two goals.

DC: Scott Dann (Crystal Palace)

A rock-solid display capped with a goal, Scott Dann continued to show his importance to Crystal Palace as he stood out as one of the team’s best players in the win over Aston Villa.

DC: Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)

Despite only being able to draw with Leicester, Jan Vertonghen put in an assured display in defence to ease Tottenham’s worries against the in-form Foxes.

DR: Bacary Sagna (Manchester City)

A player back to his best this season, Bacary Sagna had another fine game for Manchester City as they beat Everton 2-0 to continue their perfect start.

DL: Aleksandar Kolarov (Manchester City)

The other City full-back, Aleksandar Kolarov was impressive again on the left-hand side, and even got himself on the scoresheet at Goodison Park.

MC: Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Not among the goalscorers this time, but Yaya Toure got an assist and stood out as one of his team’s best players against Everton on Sunday.

MC: James Morrison (West Brom)

With two well-taken goals, James Morrison put in a superb display for West Brom against Chelsea and did not deserve to finish on the losing side.

AMR: Pedro (Chelsea)

Marking his debut with a goal and an assist, it was a brilliant afternoon from Chelsea winger Pedro, who was a handful for West Brom throughout the game.

AML: Bakary Sako (Crystal Palace)

With a goal and an all-round impressive performance for Palace out wide, Bakary Sako makes it into our Premier League team of the weekend out wide.

AMC: Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)

In the Premier League team of the weekend yet again after an amazing start, Leicester attacker Riyad Mahrez continued his fine form with a goal against Spurs.

FC: Callum Wilson (Bournemouth)

An easy choice up front, with Callum Wilson firing a superb hat-trick against West Ham to help newly-promoted Bournemouth to their first win in the Premier League.
