Man City Isco: Stars the Citizens should turn to instead including Man United transfer targets

A new report has emerged that Manchester City are looking to bring former Golden Boy Award winner Isco in on a transfer from Real Madrid.

While the move has some significant merits to it, a team as wealthy – and spend-happy – as Man City can surely set their sights on bringing in a talent who can contribute a little bit more right away.

As of now Man City are saturated with talent at midfield – and their ranks will only be further improved once David Silva returns from his injury.

Rather than spend a fortune on yet another midfielder like Isco, here are a few options the team should turn to instead.

Lionel Messi

Let’s cut right to the chase: Manchester City have everything they need to both buy the four-time Ballon d’Or winner out of Barcelona and pay him the wages he’s believed to be pursuing. Messi may have “interest” in Arsenal, but unlike the Gunners, the Citizens can pay him.

Gareth Bale

Bale is currently have a bit of an off year at Real Madrid and could very well be on his way out in the near future. Man City would benefit greatly from a guy who already has years of Premier League experience and more talent with the than Isco.

Marc Bartra

Moving on to defense for a moment, Barcelona’s young centre-back would make a perfect second-option for Vincent Kompany or Nicolas Otamendi.

Sergio Ramos

The Real Madrid defender is believed to be interested in going to the Premier League to beat down Jose Mourinho and his Chelsea team. Man City would be more than happy to oblige one of Europe’s best defenders.

Jamie Vardy

Obviously Manchester City won’t be able to pry Vardy from Leicester City without giving the Foxes something in return, but Vardy has played much better than Wilfried Bony, and would pair nicely with Kun Aguero.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Would it not be the greatest coup in Premier League history if the Citizens could hijack years of Manchester United legwork to bring Ronaldo to Etihad Stadium?

Edinson Cavani

The PSG superstar led the team in goals in all competitions last season and is believed to want out of France. Still in his prime, Cavani could easily challenge Aguero for the primary forward.
