Liverpool face major transfer competition for international hitman

Inter Milan are understood to have joined the race for Stade Rennais forward Paul-Georges Ntep, who has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months.

The attacker—who was capped by France earlier this year—reportedly visited Mellwood during the summer, as rumours abounded of an imminent move to Anfield.

While Brendan Rodgers was understood to be a big admirer of the forward—who has also been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain—it remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp is also keen to bring Ntep to the Premier League.

Should Klopp make a January move for the 23-year-old, he looks likely to face competition from Inter Milan, with Calciomercato [via Le 10 Sport] reporting that Roberto Mancini is keen on signing the talented attacker.

Ntep is an explosive and versatile operator, who could well complement the Reds’ existing options, however, the most likely bet for the player could still be PSG, with Ntep tipped as a potential replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is set to leave this summer.
