Video: Chelsea stalwarts BOOED as Stamford Bridge points the finger for Mourinho AXE

Peports have filtered into Caught Offside that two Chelsea stalwarts were booed by the Stamford Bridge fans when their names were read out in the first match since the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

According to our sources, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas were the two fans to be given a frosty reception by the Pensioners supporters when their names were announced on the tannoy system ahead of the reigning champions’ Premier League clash with Sunderland on Saturday.

Mourinho was sacked in midweek, with legendary Dutch coach Guus Hiddink appointed as his successor on Saturday.

The former Netherlands manager has led the Blues before, and while his arrival could well unify Stamford Bridge, there’s clearly some lingering sentiment of discontent following the exit of Mourinho, with Blues fans remaining loyal to the fan favourite.

The boos received by Fabregas and Costa would appear to be tact acknowledgement on the part of Chelsea fans that the two Spain international were the key underperformers under the Portuguese coach and, perhaps, the key reasons why he’s been axed.
