According to ITV Sport, the Special One is in attendance at the Amex Stadium this afternoon for the top-of-the-table Championship clash between Brighton & Hove Albion and Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough are managed by Aitor Karanka – Mourinho’s former assistant at Real Madrid.

A statement from the Portuguese’s agents CAA earlier today, published in The Telegraph, revealed that “because of his love of football, you will see Jose at football grounds working and supporting friends.”

However, the statement promised that Mourinho “will not be taking a sabbatical”, but would “not be attending any high-profile games because he wants to discourage any speculation about his future”.

It is safe to say that the two-times Champions League winner is not on the South Coast for professional reasons, but simply feeding his football addiction while checking on Karanka’s progress.

According to ESPN, Mourinho has his eyes on managing Manchester United when he returns to the dugout, although Sky Sports claim that he could be poised for a second spell at Real Madrid.
