Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas pushed for Chelsea to sack Jose Mourinho

An inside source at Chelsea has said that key players Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas were behind the push to get manager Jose Mourinho sacked, according to the Daily Star.

A report on NBC Sports claims that Fabregas was one of the main instigators to pushing the Portuguese boss out the door after growing unhappy about being left out of his starting squads recently.

And the source claims that the gap between the manager and his players grew by the week as every defeat saw Mourinho heap more blame on his squad.

And as two of the club’s biggest earners, Fabregas and Hazard’s insistence that Mourinho should be disposed of ultimately influenced Roman Abramovic’s decision to get rid.

The Blues currently sit one point above the relegation zone in 16th, and will meet with Sunderland this weekend with the hope of avoiding a third straight defeat in the Premier League.
