Unhappy Arsenal star in talks with Champions League rivals

Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy is said to be holding talks with Italian giants Roma about a possible move to Italy in the new year, according to French publication BuzzSport.

The France international has struggled for regular game time since his arrival from Newcastle in the summer of 2014 thanks to a series of injuries and the rise to prominence of youngster Hector Bellerin.

Debuchy has already talked about the possibility of leaving The Emirates in the new year in order to keep his hopes of making France’s squad for Euro 2016, and though Paris Saint Germain have apparently shown interest in his signature, a switch to Roma seems more likely.

The Serie A giants have held a long standing interest in the 30-year-old and may look to push through a deal for him in January ahead of PSG, who already have a number of options in the right-back slot.
