Arsenal considering move for £12m Fulham flop

With Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez not living up to expectations this season, Arsenal are poised to make a move for another striker in the very near future. What Arsenal fans may not be as excited for is the most recent name the Gunners seem to have put on their radar: Benfica striker Kostas Mitroglou.

According to the Metro, Arsenal are looking into the 28-year-old Greek striker and are considering a transfer move for him before signing a permanent deal with the Primeira Liga giants. However, no official bid has been made yet per the source. Mitroglou is currently on loan to Benfica from Fulham and has a career-high 19 league goals in Portugal.

Mitroglou notably signed for Fulham in January 2014 for £12 million, but made just three appearances for the club before they were relegated due to them having the most losses in the league. The following season he was loaned out to his former club Olympiacos, scoring 16 Superleague Greece goals
