Manchester United keeping tabs on unknown Turkish midfielder with €20m release clause

Manchester United have been closely monitoring Fenerbahce youngster Ozan Tufan, according to reports in Turkey.

Turkish-Football.com understands that the Red Devils will continue their scouting mission of the 21-year-old defensive midfielder during Euro 2016.

Tufan was playing from Bursaspor less than a year ago, but has enjoyed a meteoric rise which has supposedly attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

According to Tufan’s father, United could face competition from neighbours Manchester City, Chelsea and a couple of Italian giants in the hunt for his signature.

“Other big European teams have sent scouts to watch Ozan play…AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs, City and United,” Mehmet Tufan told Spanish newspaper AS.

Turkish-Football.com reports that Tufan has a €20m release clause in his contract and that Fenerbahce would not be willing to drop below that figure to sell with their top prospect.

Tufan joined Fenerbahce in August 2015. He has represented them 45 times, scoring once. He also has one goal for Turkey in 23 caps prior to this summer’s tournament in France.
