Russia fans ignore UEFA ban warning, attack English & Welsh fans in Lille

Not even the risks of a Euro 2016 ban has been enough to quell the fan violence in France.

According to the Daily Mail, a group of Russian ‘ultras’ attacked a group of English and Welsh fans outside a bar in Lille. Per the report, Russia fans threw chairs at the rival nations’ fans, and a man is shown to have been laying on his back at the scene.

Russia have been threatened with severe fines, point deductions or even ejection from Euro 2016 if fan violence continues following violent acts at Marseille’s Stade Velodrome last week.

England tied with Russia 1-1 last week while Wales beat Slovakia 2-1. England and Wales will play each other this coming week with Wales taking on Russia the week after.
