Southampton have taken the lead in their Europa League clash with Inter Milan this evening thanks to an own goal from Yuto Nagatomo.
The visitors took the lead early in the second half through Mauro Icardi. The Argentine’s effort flew past Fraser Forster to put Southampton’s Europa League status in jeopardy.
The Saints hit back through Virgil Van Dijk. He was first to react after the ball looped off the crossbar, and he fired past Samir Handanovic and into the back of the net.
Five minutes later, Claude Puel’s side have taken the lead after an unfortunate own-goal from Inter full-back Yuto Nagatomo. If the scores stay the same, they will finish this matchweek in second place in Group K.
