Journalist aims a dig at Declan Rice for his performance vs. Forest

Reporting for iNews, journalist Joe Short wasn’t impressed by West Ham skipper for his performance in loss against Nottingham Forest today.

Hammers suffered a tough loss on the road with Declan Rice missing a penalty with a chance to level the game in second half.

The 1-0 loss means West Ham are scoreless in the first two games of the season.

“Declan Rice – Two fouls in the opening nine minutes earned him an early yellow. Never really commanded the centre of the field as we’re used to seeing. His penalty miss summed up his afternoon. 5/10.” – said Short.

Rice himself was very frustrated and after the game apologized to the fans for his penalty miss.

“Can only apologize for the penalty miss, thought we created enough to get something from the game.” – Rice adressed the fans via Twitter.

Declan Rice remains one of the most consistent and durable players for West Ham United and that surely will help him leave behind this setback to help the team in the upcoming games.

  1. He needs to understand his duties as Captain. One of which is NOT to push forward to take penalties. He hasn’t the technique or the skill as he has shown on more than one occasion.
Moyes and his coaches should have trained, prepared others for that task. So what are they doing when a penalty opportunity arises.
Basically, apart from the two x bar hits, Rice lost us that game.
