Leeds United in talks to appoint 43-year-old boss as next manager

According to Football Transfers, Steven Gerrard is in discussions with Leeds United over the open managerial position, although he is also in contact with Leicester City.

The former manager of Liverpool has been unemployed since being fired from Aston Villa in November, the club he took over after leading Rangers to the SPFL championship.

He is trying to find a new job again and it is said that both of the recently demoted clubs are looking into his hiring as they prepare to make their way back to the Premier League.

The 43-year-old is viewed as long-term boss for Leeds United after parting ways with Sam Allardyce last week.

  1. He has a lot to do to establish himself as a good manager again so will come with energy and commitment to succeed. We could do far worse as he has much to lose if he fails and much to gain if he is successful.

  2. If he comes in he will need to sort this defence out Leeds have conceeded a lot this season then sort the midfield out to lightweight they need someone like a Gerrard in there got overrun this term. But could be a good appointment.

  3. Better bring his boots as well as we have no mid field left plus he needs to sort defence out rapidly. I think he would be a good appointment for club especially as we got good backing from 49ers ( If deal goes through) M.O.T.

  4. He was only a player at Liverpool great player but as a manager the doubts are their villa average team with S G at the helm poor with emery total transformation
    We need an emery

  5. Come on Caughtoffside ffs. If you’re gonna produce a journalistic piece, you could at least research it first and make sure it’s correct before going to print. Who the feck are the 48ers?
