Darren Bent insists Arsenal should “blow the whole transfer budget” on two Premier League stars

Former Premier League striker Darren Bent believes Arsenal should spend all their transfer budget on Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak this summer.

Guimaraes has been a revelation for Newcastle following his arrival from Lyon for £40m in 2021, and has established himself as a key player for the Magpies.

Alexander Isak on the other hand is having a superb season and has scored 19 goals in the league this season, which has seen him linked with a move away from Newcastle.

Arsenal should spend all their budget on Guimaraes

The Gunners are pushing Manchester City all the way, as they look to end a 20 year wait for a Premier League title, and have certainly improved as a team since last season.

It’s been reported that Arsenal are feeling increasingly confident a deal can be done for the Brazilian, whilst they are believed to be amongst a number of clubs interested in Isak.

Arsenal already have a squad which is capable of competing for the Premier League title, but Bent believes they should spend their whole budget on the Newcastle pair.

Darren Bent believes Arsenal should sign Isak and Guimaraes this summer.

“You know what, I’d blow the whole transfer budget on them two. Got £150million to spend”, he said on talkSPORT.

The former Spurs striker was then asked where Guimaraes would play in Mikel Arteta’s side and replied: “Bruno, [Declan] Rice, [Martin] Odegaard in midfield.”

Arsenal are believed to be looking for a proven goalscorer, with doubts surrounding Gabriel Jesus, and as well as Isak have been linked with Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney and Viktor Gyokeres.

Midfield is an area which the Gunners need to strengthen, due to doubts surrounding Thomas Partey’s fitness and Jorginho not getting any younger.

If they can pull a deal off Guimaraes has the quality to make a real difference for the Gunners, and the thought of him being paired with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard is a frightening proposition.
