Lille are facing the possibility of selling star winger Saloman Kalou according to Tutto Mercato Web.
The former Chelsea star has become one of the club’s key players since arriving from Chelsea and has become a vital part of their push for a Champions League position this season.
Reports in recent weeks suggested that the player’s could form had not gone unnoticed in England with a number of Premier League sides willing to offer Kalou the chance to return to the English top flight.
Liverpool and Arsenal were both thought to be at the head of a pack of clubs monitoring the player’s availability ahead of a potential summer bid.
But Kalou moved to pour cold water on the speculation insisting he was happy with the Ligue 1 side and intended to see out the remainder of his contract with the club, which is currently set to run until 2016.
Lille may find their hand forced however as the club face severe financial pressures as a result of the 75% tax on millionaires.
The club are facing growing calls from their players to make up the difference or risk losing them as they seek a move to countries with more favourable tax regimes.
