Manchester United set to make £15M January move for highly-rated youngster who is yet to score a professional goal

Manchester United are considering making a move for highly-rated Feyenoord right-back Rick Karsdorp, according to the Mirror.

The Mirror believe that United boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign cover for Antonio Valencia in the January transfer window and was impressed by Karsdorp during his side’s clashes with Feyenoord in the Europa League this campaign.

Valencia is 31-years-old and, as per the Mirror, Mourinho sees Karsdorp as his long-term successor on the right-side of United’s defence. They believe that they will make a £15 million to sign the youngster in January, an offer that could tempt Feyenoord to part with one of their prize possessions.

Karsdorp played for the Dutch national sides from under-17s all the way up to under-21s before receiving his first call-up to the senior side in September; he has since made two appearances for his country.

Man United have scored the fewest goals in the Premier League this season out of all of the top six. Karsdorp, however, will not be much help in that department – having never scored a professional goal.
