While the majority of the footballing world sat up and took notice after Arsenal’s sublime 2-0 win at the San Siro stadium on Tuesday night, there were others who were slightly less impressed. The Daily Telegraph reports that while Tottenham manager Juande Ramos though the Gunners played well against the Champions League holders, it was only on a par with his team’s performance in the Carling Cup final.
“I like the way Arsenal played. They were magnificent over two legs and deserved their victory.
“But I must say also that I am not jealous. I think we played similarly good football in the Carling Cup.”
Just a shame that Spurs could only sustain their form for one match before being tonked at St Andrews. Is Ramos right to believe that Tottenham have played to the same standard as Arsenal? It’s hard to imagine them taking the game to Milan in their own backyard in the same way that Arsene Wenger’s men did.
